You can explore the history of life dating back to Medieval times in Bradford at the Bolling Hall, it has a museum showcasing many artefacts and full of interesting information. 

In the city center you will find Bradford’s Cathedral surrounded by landscaped gardens, it is an incredible building to see and admire its stunning architecture and some designs and sculptures. 

Bradford’s City Park is in the heart of the city, surrounded by the City Hall. The park has gardens, exhibitions, market stalls, and a mirror pool holding the highest fountain in England. 

Near the City park you will find Bradford 1 Gallery and the Impressions Gallery if you are wanting to enjoy a spot of art! 

If you fancy a spot of shopping whilst in Bradford, there is no better place than The Broadway located in the town center filled with big name brands and chain stores. You can even stop and have a bite to eat at the food court. 

Visit the Cliffe Castle Museum and see its impressive neo-Gothic architecture and stunning interior, as well as exploring the museum filled with many artefacts and historic information. 

There are many different restaurants, bars and cafés to enjoy in Bradford and throughout, with a variety of different cuisines varying from British to Asian, among other delicious dining options. 

Travel 

You can safely walk around Bradford City and explore the streets and nearby landmarks, shops and parks. 

One of the best ways to travel would be by vehicle as you can get around at your own pace, and explore the city as well as surrounding areas. 

There is a bus station situated in the City called Bradford Interchange with a good reliable service getting you around the city and nearby destinations. 

There are two central train stations – Bradford Interchange and Bradford Forster Square. These are well connected to surrounding areas and you can even get to other cities further afield like London and Manchester. 

There are many taxi ranks in the city center to get around the city, however it can be quite costly!

Bradford is nestled by the picturesque Pennine Mountains and located in West Yorkshire and gained its city status in 1897.

Wool Spinning and cloth weaving were the main industries in Bournemouth in 1801 and were carried out in local cottages and farms, it was a market town with a population of 6,393. 

By 1841 the town had a population of 34,560 and with the industrial revolution which led to its rapid growth, it had 46 coal mines within its boundaries and the output continued to expand, and with the wool industry growing it was soon known as the wool capital of the world. By 1850 it had a population of 182,000 and the town grew rapidly with many workers attracted to jobs in textile mills. 

In 1844 the completion of Bradford Moor Barracks meant that the military had a permanent presence established in the city. 

In 1873 the Bradford Town Hall was constructed and has had many extensions over the years and is venetian gothic styled, it is one of the oldest buildings still standing in the city and in 1965 its name was changed to City hall to reflect the prominence.
