There are many places to visit and sights to see in the beautiful city of Burgos. 

You can have a guided tour of the Cathedral and historic center or take a visit to the Museum of Human Evolution.

You can take a walk along the Puente de San Pablo and you will find many statues to admire. 

You can go up the steps to el Mirador Castillo where you will get a panoramic view of the city of Burgos.

Travel 

Burgos Airport is located 5km from the city Centre. 

There is a rail route through the city, and there is also the option to use the AVE which is a high-speed train connecting to cities like Madrid in 84 minutes or Bilbao in 70 minutes. 

There is an International Bus Station located in the City Centre, it connects the city with nearly every region in Spain as well as a number of European cities. 

The City has a public bicycle rental System, Called Bicibur. There are many drop off and pick up points around the city, and over 100km of bicycle lanes in the city.

History of Burgos

Burgos situated in the North of Spain, is rich in ancient churches and convents. The three most outstanding are the Cathedral, the Monastery of Las Huelgas and the Carthusian monastery of Miraflores. There are also many churches such as San Esteban, San Gil, San Pedro and many more architectural structures! 

Castillo de Burgos, one of the oldest castles in Spain, which sits at the of a hill in the Parque de Castillo, endured many attacks and a devastating assault in 1813 by Napoleon’s army, so there now only remains the ruins of the original castle foundations and some of its structure. 

The most famous Bridge in Burgos is the Puente de San Pablo, which was built in the 13th century. The bridge is lined with statues of Castilian noblemen from the Middle Ages.  

There is a huge historical importance in the city where the Spanish hero El Cid was born, there are many landmarks that are around its Old Town.
