Take a stroll along the River Onyar and see the picturesque colourful buildings that cling to the edges. You can also enjoy the various bridges that cross it, especially the arch stone bridge of Pont De Pedra. It was designed by Gustave Eiffel, who also designed the Eiffel Tower in Paris.

The Girona Art Museum is a must see and is located in the old episcopal palace, it holds a collection or art from the Romanesque period.

Girona has many reliable buses and 0 different bus routes enabling you to get around nearby areas and surrounding local areas, including popular cities in Spain and France.

You can also travel by train in Girona, with trains running to and from Barcelona, and even a direct train to Paris. 

The Old Town and New Town are both highly pedestrianized, so it's easy for you to get around by walking. Some of the streets in the Old Town have largely cobblestones so it's recommended to wear suitable footwear. 

You can hire a car to get around however it is not necessary for Girona, it would be more useful to get you to places nearby. 

Girona is a city in the Northern part of Spain in Catalonia. 

In the 11th Century the construction of the Girona Cathedral started, also known as the Cathedral of Saint Mary of Girona, with a Romanesque architectural style, and continued in the 13th century with a Gothic Style. From its original edifice only the 12th Century Cloister and bell tower remain. And in the 18th century the second bell tower was built. 

Girona has a Plaza de independencia which refers to the Spanish War of Independence between 1808 – 1814, it's one of the busiest and best-known places in Girona. 

The Onyar river that crosses the Girona City is filled with spectacular houses painted bright colours which present an emblematic image of Girona. 

In the 12th Century the city built Roman baths which were inspired by the Arabic and Roman Designs and they remained open until the 14th Century.
