Guildford is in the heart of Surrey, there is a vibrant market town with great shopping & places to eat and drink.
On Stag Hill you will find Guildford Cathedral which soars over the University of Surrey Campus, with its striking Art Deco and Neo-Gothic monument and it’s interior made from Italian marble and it’s magnificent carved glass angels, it is definitely a stunning sight to see.
Guildford Castle is a must see, with its beautiful surrounding garden, you can head up to the top of the Great Tower for a panoramic view of Guildford and its beautiful countryside.
Visit Loseley Park and wander around its elegantly walled gardens and down to the lake surrounded by nature, there is also a Tea Room called ‘The Wisteria Tearoom ‘ where you can stop to have a bite to eat and something to drink!
Watts Gallery-Artists Village is great for seeing Victorian Painting and sculptures.
At the heart of the town you will find the High Street with endless shops and pubs to explore.
You can take a river trip down the River Wey or hire a rowing boat or canoe to travel at your own pace, it’s located 5 minutes from the town Centre.
Travel
The Centre of Guildford is easily walkable, but quite hilly.
You can get a Bus around Guildford quite easily, and they also offer a Park and Ride which may be an easier way to get around the town Centre if you’re travelling by car.
There are Taxis available to get around, however I wouldn’t recommend relying on them as they are the most expensive way of getting around.
The Guildford main line station has regular train services operating to surrounding areas including routes to London. You can Visit London Waterloo by train in just 35 minutes.
