Paris is the capital of France, and is the major center for art, fashion, gastronomy, and culture.

Access by train 

Using the Eurostar, the average journey time by train between London and Paris is 2 hours and 20 minutes, with around 15 trains per day.

Access by plane 

There are two main airports in Paris, Paris Charles de Gaulle and Paris Orly. Both are busy hubs that offer connecting flights to and from the UK. British Airways fly into the two Paris airports and offer some great deals on the 1 hour 15 minute flight. 

How to get around Paris ? 

Metro, Bus, Boat, Bike, Train… Walk, peddle, ride above ground, ride underground, or go by boat. It's a relatively compact city, so combining your own two feet with low-cost public transportation is the best way of getting around in Paris.

The Paris Chartres pilgrimage : This is a three day walk from Notre -Dame tin Paris to Notre Dames de Chartres, approximately 60 miles. The walk is through the streets of Paris and then in the countryside. Each chapter is accompanied by at least one chaplain, who hears confession and gives spiritual direction. 

Paris is a haven for anyone interested in the culture of religion, and is perfect for anyone who enjoys indulging their love of religious history. Those beautiful historical sites make Paris a unique place. And you only have to take a look at the cathedrals and religious buildings that stand today to realise what an important place, religiously speaking, Paris is. 

To start with the oldest church in Paris, Saint-Germain-des-Prés, from the 6th century. The church was established to house the relic of the True Cross but is now housed in the Musee National du Moyen-Age. 

You can’t visit Paris and not visit the iconic Notre-Dame Cathedral, famous for its stained glass, sculptures and architectural features. The cathedral is also a place for pilgrimage and active worship as well as an important site for Catholic events. Notre-Dame holds a few treasures such as the memorabilia belonging to Jesus Christ to the famous stained glass rose windows, paintings and sculptures, there is something for everyone at Notre Dame. 

And maybe let’s go for one last stop at the masterpiece : The Sacré-Cœur in the beautiful quarters of Montmartre. The white landmark is special to Paris, built at the end of the 19th century in the Romano-Byzantine style it is dedicated to the heart of Christ and is an important place of worship in the capital.
