Bed and breakfast accommodation in Valladolid Monasteries

There are many historical buildings to be seen in Valladolid. Amongst many, you can visit the Stunning Cathedral of Valladolid and its bell tower and go up to the top of the bell tower by elevator or by steps to see it´s panoramic views over the city's landscape.   

Santa Maria la Antigua Church is north of the Cathedral, a beautiful church which has preserved its original form. 

The Church of San Pablo with its ornate exterior and Gothic Style is among the best places to visit whilst in Valladolid, as well as the Colegio de San Gregorio which now houses the National Museum of sculptures with its characteristic architectural exterior and its decorative courtyard. 

Plaza Mayor is the central Plaza in the City, located near the other famous Plaza, the Plaza Zorrilla. With the town hall on the same Plaza, this is one of the main popular areas of Valladolid. You will find a good selection of Restaurants & Tapas Bars in the Plaza. 

The Palacio de Pimentel is a very noticeable architectural building, and it was also the birthplace of King Philip II. You can see ancient murals in the entrance of the building. 

Travel

The Valladolid Airport is located 10 km away from the city in a town called Villanubla. You can get a flight to cities such as London, Milan, Paris, Barcelona, Mallorca or Brussels. You can get a taxi or a bus to the City Centre. 

There is a Train Station (Estación del Norte), that also offers the AVE high speed train service and is a 20-minute walk from the City. 

Due to the size of the City, you can walk most places, but public transport can save time. You can also get around by Bus as there are many stops around, or taxi. 

A different option is taking a trip by boat, along the Pisuerga River. 

Valladolid is well known for its wine regions (Rueda, Toro, Cigales, Tierra de León & Ribera del Duero), and has very impressive architecture in the City too. 

The Old town of Valladolid is filled with a variety of Historic Churches, Convents, Houses, Palaces, Plazas, Parks, and much more. 

The Valladolid Cathedral, also known as the Cathedral of our Lady of the Holy Assumption is a Roman Catholic Church with a Renaissance Style. There are four chapels on either side of the church. The Cathedral which was constructed in the 16th century is unfinished, it has one bell tower that stands 70m high.

Built in the 15th Century is the Valladolid University, a grand building just opposite of the Cathedral with an impressive exterior making it an outstanding building. 

The Iglesia de San Pablo is a church built in 1500 with very intricate exterior and Gothic details, and there´s more impressive architecture in the Santa Maria de la Antigua church which was built in the 12th & 14th Centuries, one side is Romanesque style and the other half is Gothic Style. 

During the Spanish Civil War between 1936-1949 many churches and other buildings were damaged during the bombings; over the years these were then restored.

The Duque de Lerma Building is the highest in the city which was built between 1970-1999 and stands 87m tall.
