Overview

The House enjoys spectacular views across Llangors Lake towards the western fringe of the Black Mountains. It is a peaceful venue and a haven for wildlife lovers who can admire the rare beauty of the surroundings.

Inside the main house, there are 6 twins and 11 singles. Two rooms on the ground floor are en-suite and suitable for the disabled. The rest of the bathrooms are shared. In the adjoining cottage, there are 2 twins and 1 single with a shared bath.

By car: From London take M4 to Newport and follow the signs to Abergavenny on A449 and A40. Leave Abergavenny on the A40 and pass through a village called Crickhowell. Keep on the A40 until the village of Bwlch. Follow the road through the village until the War Memorial and turn right at sign-posted Llangors. After the turn, the road narrows for about 200 yds. Turn left at sign-posted Pennorth. Follow the lane for about a mile until a sign saying Llangasty and Llangasty Church. Turn right and the Retreat House is about 400 yds down this lane on the left. By train: Public transport is difficult to Llangasty. However, there is a train from London-Paddington to Newport/Gwent (destination Swansea/Cardiff). Change at Newport for Abergavenny. Arrange with the House to be picked up there.
