Williamson Park is an Edwardian Baroque memorial place with a wonderful park & a huge variety of different routes and paths, the views of the fantastic building are a huge landmark in the area, and you can also enjoy spectacular views of Lancaster and the coast.
Lancaster Castle with its 1000 years of history, you can visit its old cells, shire Hall and Crown Court.
Take a walk along the Lancaster Canal, which runs through the heart of the city with 43 miles of lock free canal, you can even take a pleasure cruise with ‘’Lune Aqueduct Cruise’’ across the Georgian aqueduct over the River Lune.
Lancaster City Museum is full of local history, it can be found in the Market Square and is a beautiful Georgian building, it has a good selection of exhibits to see and has displays of its army regiment.
Lancaster has a good variation of Restaurants and cafes which can all mainly be found in the city Centre, with a few branching out further afield.
Travel
Lancaster is a small City so makes a good location to walk around or ride a bike on the streets as there are many off road cycle paths available.
The Bus Station is in the City Centre and has frequent bus services running around the City and to surrounding areas, there is Lancaster Railway Station just 5 minutes away walking distance.
The Train is a great option for visiting surrounding areas such as Morecambe or Heysham which are both on the Coast, or other desired locations!
You can travel by car or Taxi around the City very easily; the main taxi ranks can be found at the Bus station and Railway Station.
