History

The abbey of Valsaintes also known as the abbey of Simiane (or of Boulinette or of Bolinette) is a former Cistercian abbey, founded by the monks of Silvacane, located on the territory of the municipality of Simiane-la-Rotonde, in the Alpes-de -Haute-Provence, near the Albion plateau. From 1996 to 1999, part of the buildings were restored and the garden was converted into a rose garden. The site has been open to the public since 1999.

Today, having no more religious community on site, the abbey inspires people from all over the world to spirituality and personal renewal.
