History

The Episcopal Seminary was founded by H.E. Mons. Marini in 1567. Over the centuries it hosted seminarians and priests from the Diocese of Alba until the early 2000s when a single Interdiocesan Seminary was created for the entire Province of Cuneo.

Since that time it has been used to host 12 retired priests, it hosts the branches of two city schools, namely the Liceo Classico G. Govone and the IPC Cillario Ferrero, the Diocesan Library, the conference halls used by the Diocese of Alba for own activities and rented to outsiders for meetings and conferences.

Since 2014 a part of the second floor has been used for Religious Hospitality, converting the rooms used in the past by seminarians into welcoming rooms open to all those who need a support point when passing through the city.
 

Food & beverage

On the second floor there is the Refreshment Point where there is a machine for hot drinks with pods, a kettle with some  various herbal teas and bottles of still and sparkling water both at room's temperature and in the fridge.
The refrigerator is available to all guests.

On the ground floor in the historic refectory of the building it is possible to have a continental breakfast, lunch and dinner. These three meals are not included in the overnight rate and must be booked in advance.

Grounds & Gardens

In the Seminary there is a large garden available to the guests 24/7. It is a very quiet green area where it is possible to walk, read and chat with friends.

Other facilities

There are many services offered by the House. Among them you will find:

-Chapel dedicated to the Madonna del Buon Consiglio;

-Library;

-Relaxation room: common area, on the second floor, overlooking the medieval towers of Alba and the bell tower of the San Lorenzo Cathedral, equipped with a sofa and armchairs;

-Five-a-side football pitch;

-Interior garden with tables and chairs: ideal space to relax;

-Large internal parking with entrance on the back of the building in Corso San Michele Coppino 43;

-Luggage storage;

-Restaurant.
