History

1881: The first real manifestation of the Salesian family in Florence. Primary education, elementary schools and early secondary schools were offered. At the same time, art and craft schools such as tailors, carpenters, bookbinders, printers, printers and framers.

1915: In a small church in Via Gioberti, Don Torquato Tassi obtains the concession of the parish.

1930: completion of the Church of the Holy Family.

1954: With great audacity, the director Don Ivo Paltrinieri launched into the construction of the two large buildings that are still used today to house schools.

1970: The institute for surveyors of Borgo San Lorenzo is transferred to Florence after the reform for the unification of the middle school.
Following the sale of the school for surveyors, the Salesians set up a boarding school for university students in need of hospitality. Place to live during the period of study.

1992: For years in the city of Florence there was a need for a high school run by the Salesians. In 1992 they decided to establish the scientific high school which still has over one hundred students today.

2013: Salesians decide to inaugurate the new high school, that of the human sciences with an economic-social option.

BY CAR From the Firenze Sud exit (A1), follow the signs for "Fiesole" and "Stadio". Once you reach the end of the ring road, turn left and continue straight on in "Via De Nicola", then "Lungarno Aldo Moro" and then "Lungarno Cristorofo Colombo". After passing the 3rd traffic light you must immediately turn right onto Via del Ghirlandario. After passing 2 intersections you will arrive at number 40. BY BUS From the center of Florence, line 14. Get off at the "ORCAGNA - ELIANA MONTI CLUB" stop (the second stop in via Arnolfo) and drive for about 200 meters. BY TRAIN (FLORENCE S.M.N.) From the Florence S. M. Novella central station, take line 14. Get off at the "ORCAGNA - ELIANA MONTI CLUB" stop (the second stop in via Arnolfo) and drive for about 200 meters. BY TRAIN (FLORENCE CAMPO DI MARTE) From the Firenze Campo di Marte station it is a 15-minute walk along the following route: Start from Via Mannelli towards Via Capo di Mondo and then take it by turning right. Continue until you cross via Giotto. There turn left. Get to the end of the road and you are in front of Via del Ghirlandaio number 40.
