The Casa del Pellegrino is located inside the ancient village of Castelmonte (municipality of Prepotto) on top of a little mountain (618mt), offers hospitality with hotel, restaurant and bar service for those who want to visit the Sanctuary of the Beata Vergine di Castelmonte and the surrounding area and all the pilgrims and tourists passing trough.

The welcome is familiar and simple, the rooms are large, with sober furnishings. The view from the sanctuary is of great beauty and sweeps over Cividale del Friuli and the Friulian hills of the north east.

From the other side the panorama shows the slovenian country and the Prealpi Giulie.

For those arriving on the Palmanova-Tarvisio motorway, A23, take the Udine Sud exit, follow the directions for Cividale del Friuli, once you have reached the town follow the signs for Castelmonte.

For those arriving on the Tarvisio-Palmanova motorway, A23, take the Udine Nord exit, follow the directions for Cividale del Friuli, once you have reached the town follow the signs for Castelmonte.

For those coming from Gorizia, follow the directions for Cormons, Corno di Rosazzo, Cividale del Friuli, once you have reached the town, follow the signs for Castelmonte.

Public transport The Sanctuary is reached daily by the bus, SAF autoservizi, which makes the Udine (9.00 am) - Castelmonte (9.50 am) route, you can get on at the stops along the way to Cividale. To get off, the departure is at 12.10 from the square of the Sanctuary and arrival in Udine at 13.00, also in this case you can get off at the intermediate stops.

The bus does not operate on the days: January 1st, Easter, May 1st, Christmas and in case of snow or ice.
