Overview

The shrine of Madonna dell'Ambro was originally a small chapel built in the 11th century after the apparition of Mary to a local girl. As the fame of the shrine grew, the chapel became a church. In the 17th century, a shrine and a Capuchin convent were built around the original chapel.

Note: The complex is open from May to October. In the winter months when the area receives heavy snowfall, the complex is only open on Sunday.
