Overview

Occupying the verdant slopes of Mount Reatini, the convent is a prominent pilgrimage site, the Franciscan shrine is one of four in the environs. The path in front of the convent leads to the cave where Saint Francis had a vision of an angel. The church and convent have been enriched with paintings and frescoes from the 14th through the 17th centuries.

1) 18 beds in single (one), double and triple rooms, each with private
bath. Both men and women are welcome. Open year-round.
2) 18 beds in two large dorms with shared bath. There is no heating. The
dorms are closed in winter.
Guests staying in dormitories must supply their own towels and linens. It is also recommended that they bring sleeping bags.
Guests staying in the rooms can request towels and linens but it is also recommended that they supply their own.

Special Rules
Hospitality is reserved for groups only. Exceptions can be made during the summer for guests staying in the rooms.

1) By car: From Rome, take Strada Statale 4 Salaria (SS 4) to Rieti and take route 79 until the sign to Poggio Bustone. From Poggio Bustone, look for signs to the convent (2 km). 2) By car: From Rome, take Highway A1, exit at Fiano Romano and follow the signs to Rieti. From there take route 79 until the sign to Poggio Bustone, then follow the signs to the convent. Note: Option 2 is faster. By train: Get off at Rieti and take the local bus to Poggio Bustone. From there, walk or take the bus to the convent. Buses do not run on  Sundays or during festivals.
