History

The Salesians are the "sons of Don Bosco", the Congregation he wanted and founded to continue, together with a vast movement of collaborators, his work of education and evangelization.

Don Bosco, a nineteenth-century Turin priest dedicated his entire life to children and young people, taking care of them, their education, their poverty, their human and Christian growth.

In Turin, the city of the beginnings of Don Bosco's work, he gave birth to oratories, schools, education and training centers for work, and from there his charism spread throughout the world.

Currently there are more than 15,000 Salesians in the world, present in 128 countries to continue Don Bosco's mission.

Great communication ahead of time to make it easy to get to. Excellent help as well once arrived with amenities in the area and timing of transportation back to the airport. Rooms are simple but clean and spacious enough. Would definitely book again. Excellent value!

Thank you to the gentlemen working at the front desk who were so helpful showing me around the guest house and also helping with my questions about the city and transportation

This hotel was brillant in terms of it's location. Two stops to St. Mark's Square on a vaporetto. The place was very simple but clean and had what I needed.

The receptionist was very helpful as the airline had lost my bags and I didn't have a charger. She also gave me the address of pharmacies and called them.

The Salesian Patronato Leone XIII is located in the Castello district, in the extreme part of Venice, near the Giardini della Biennale.

For those arriving at Venice Marco Polo airport, it is recommended using bus no. 5 "Aerobus" which leads to Piazzale Roma or the Blue Line of the Alilaguna with stop at Arsenale. Starting from the Venice Santa Lucia train station or from Piazzale Roma it is recommended the following routes:

- through the Grand Canal using the Line 1 vaporetto, with a journey of about 60 minutes, on the most beautiful waterway in the world; -through the Giudecca Canal, with a faster journey (about 30 minutes) using the vaporetti of Line 4.1, 5.1, 6 from Piazzale Roma or from the Railway. The aforementioned lines pass through the “Giardini” or “Giardini - Biennale” stop which is a few hundred meters from the hotel. From the vaporetto stop, proceed left towards the tree-lined avenue “Viale G. Garibaldi” and, after crossing a bridge without steps, immediately turn left. You will find Calle S. Domenico. Proceed a hundred meters up to n. 1281.
