History

This unique place, bequeathed by the Aubert family to the Church of Fréjus-Toulon in the 1920s, aims to welcome groups, families, but also seminarians and priests.

These lands, existing before the 11th century, belong to the Solliès family, lords of the village of this name, then directly to the counts of Provence.

They passed successively to Jean Gonsalve de Morance (14th century), then to the Forbins, nobles from Aix and governors of Provence.

They kept it between 1467 and 1716.

The first mention of the name of Castile appears in 1566.

In 1716, the estate was sold to Pierre-Jean de Marseille.

In 1728, the new owner began the construction of the current castle, as well as the cellar, composed of two large vessels vaulted in beautiful apparatus and built by the convicts of the prison of La Ciotat.

The estate was sold in 1730 to Jean-Louis de Selle, a notable from Toulon.

The land will remain in this family for a hundred years.

In 1829, the land was sold to the Aubert family.

The estate will then experience great expansion throughout the 19th century and the Aubert family will give it a purely viticultural orientation.

Today, the fraternity of Saint Joseph Guardian is installed in the domain of La Castille where three sisters provide hospitality and in the parish of La Londe-les-Maures where a priest and a deacon exercise their ministries.
