Overview

The Waldensian Foresteria is located in the heart of the Oltrarno district, in an area convenient to walk to Ponte Vecchio, the Uffizi Gallery, Piazza della Signoria and the major tourist attractions of the city. The building that houses it, Palazzo Salviati, a treasure trove of numerous works of art, was built around the mid-1600s and donated to the Waldensian Table at the end of the 19th century. Today, the Foresteria Valdese in Florence offers ideal rooms to accommodate single travelers, families, couples and groups.

The multilingual reception staff is always available for information and suggestions on cultural and artistic itineraries in and around Florence.

The Foresteria Valdese is the perfect place for your low-cost holidays in Florence center, just a stone's throw from Palazzo Pitti and Ponte Vecchio. It is located in the Oltrarno district, near Piazza Santo Spirito and Piazza del Carmine, and offers the opportunity to experience the authentic lifestyle of the city, the cradle of the Renaissance.

This hotel uses all of its income to support the homeless, handicapped, and an orphanage that is next door. It is a very basic, but beautiful place to stay that is blocks away from the Arno river and the heart of old Florence. There is no room service. If you need something you ask. The beds are stiff and the pillows flat, but the sheets are clean and the room is just what it should be... a place to sleep since you are in Florence and there is so much to see. Source - Google

This hotel was better than expected. The room was large and clean. The water pressure was not strong in the shower but the water was nice and hot. The location is excellent as it's quiet and you're still a ten minute walk into the main tourist area. There's a laundromat a block away. The wifi worked great and there was the option of an elevator. We got two single beds but pushed them together and that was totally fine. Source - Google

This is a hotel with a purpose, with the revenues of this hotel, they support a "casa famiglia". If you are not into luxuries, this is a very clean place, in a excellent area and excellent customer service where you can stay and help those in need. Chapel for them. Source - Google

Staff were friendly and very helpful. Felt safe and location is great. Room clean and a good size. Only complaint is that the room would get a bit stuffy but highly recommended.
