The property is around 200 years old. It was once a farm with around 300 acres of land. With many changes in its history it's now a luxurious B&B with just under 3 acres of garden and woodland to explore and enjoy.
Breakfast: A free continental and cooked breakfast are provided daily.
Lunch: Packed lunches are available from £6 per person, per day.
Afternoon Tea: A variety of afternoon teas options are available from £4.95 per person.
Dinner Service: A candlelit dinner service is available on selected evenings (Monday, Wednesday and Saturday night) which is served at 7.00pm. Dinners are to be pre-ordered from the dinner menu (24 hours notice required). There has to be a minimum of 2 courses ordered. All items are cooked from scratch using local produce where possible. From £20 per person.
Drinks - Afon Rhaiadr is a licensed property and has a small selection of local beer from Cader Brewery, Cider from Rosie’s Brewery and an amazing selection of wines from the local wine expert Dylan from Dylanwad Wine Bar. There is also a small selection of Spirits available for purchase throughout the day and evening 9.00am till 9:30 pm.
If guests would like to bring their own drinks, there is a corkage fee of £8 per Wine/Champaign bottle, £1 per beer or cider bottle up to 500mls and £15 per 750ml bottle of Spirits.
Afon Rhaiadr Country House has just under 3 acres of garden and woodland to explore and enjoy. Close to a disused railway line which is accessible from the garden.
There are many places to visit in Snowdonia with Barmouth (Seaside town), Harlech Castle, Portmeirion village (famous for the TV series The Prisoner) and the Ffestiniog & Welsh Highland Railway on the doorstep.
For the more adventurous the popular Coed y Brenin forestry park for mountain biking, cycling and woodland walks and Bala Lake for all the water sports are only a short distance away from Dolgellau (a local historical town), which is a great example of the natural wonders of Snowdonia National Park. North Wales & Mid Wales is a walkers paradise including Mawddach trail, Cader Idris Mountain, Torrent Walk and Precipice walks plus much more.

Directions:
When approaching, the property is on the south side of the A494 and has a clear B&B sign on the entrance but it can come up quite quickly. The property is on a bend in the road and has a sharp turning into the property on the right (1/4 mile from Brithdir sign post) if coming from Dolgellau. If the entrance is missed there is a layby shortly after the property. There is an even sharper turn on the left 14 miles from Bala direction (pass the layby just before the turning) – if coming from Bala it may be advisable to drive further along the road and turn to approach from the other direction.
