Cologne to Trier - German Pilgrimage Route

德国科洛尼西斯大街

Cologne
Trier
245km

Germany’s Camino, the walk originated as an aid for pilgrims crossing Germany enroute to Santiago de Compostela, and is often incorporated into other pathways heading into France and Spain.

Via Coloniensis is a 245km route between two of the country’s Roman cities, Cologne and Trier. Running south from Cologne the route crosses pleasant countryside before reaching the charming spa town of Bad Munstereifel. Crossing the EIfel National Park the route enjoys woodland and forest walks, passes the former Benedictine abbey at Prüm, before it briefly crosses into Luxembourg, via the historic town of Echternach.

The route concludes at St Peter’s Cathedral in Trier - the oldest church in Germany, dating back to the fourth century. The Roman Monuments within the town of Trier are a UNESCO World Heritage Site, housing an amphitheatre, City Gate, Roman bridges, Imperial Baths,a  Palace and Cathedral.
