História de Ecully

Écully is a town in the Metropolis of Lyon, located in central France.

Formerly covered with woods, the present territory of Écully has been populated since the Gallo-Roman period.

Écully has developed over the centuries with religious sites such as the church in the town center, the Saint Blaise church, as well as the Saint Jean-Marie Vianney chapel in Pérollier, the Mother Theresa chapel on rue Luize and the Temple Lanterne, a protestant church.

From the 15th century, the city took advantage of the economic and social development of Lyon, merchants from Lyon built luxurious second residences. Still today, the city of Écully remains a rich residential city, as evidenced by the many remains of mansions built between the sixteenth and nineteenth century.
