This is the second time I have stayed here and it has been excellent both times. Comfortable rooms with everything I needed; helpful, friendly staff; great gluten-free breakfast options, and convenient location.

Reception staff were very helpful, as there was an issue with lack of hot water from my friends shower. Other than that wonderful place to stay.

História de Cambridge

Cambridge is a City with the River Cam running through it and is most famous for its striking historical university buildings.

The University of Cambridge was founded in 1209 and is made up of 31 colleges and has a long history.

In 1068 during the Norman times a Castle was built on Castle Hill to fortify Cambridge, however by the 15th century Henry VI ordered for it to be destroyed so the stone could be reused to construct King’s College in 1441, and other parts of the castle to be used for constructing Trinity college’s Chapel. All that remains of the castle now is a few stones and Castle Mound which can be found on the grounds of Shire Hall.

In 1845 The Cambridge Railway Station was opened, linking it to Bishopsgate station in London, and by the 19th Century further lines opened.

Cambridge has many churches forming part of its significant historic architectural landscape. Great St Mary’s Church which was built between 1478-1519, and the Our Lady, The Round Church dating back to 1130 and the English Martyrs Church was built between 1885-1890, just a couple of the many outstanding churches in Cambridge.
