历史

In 1860, the Congrégation des Augustins de l'Assomption, founded in Nîmes in 1850, established its first Parisian community at 8 rue François 1er.

In 1872, the Association Dame de Salut was founded, organizing pilgrimages and publishing the bulletin “Le Pèlerin”, which became “La Croix” in 1883. The first pilgrimages took place to La Salette, Lourdes and Rome between 1872 and 1873.

In 1900, the community was dissolved after a raid, but the chapel remained open. In 1923, the house was bought out and became a branch of the Bonne Presse publishing group, renamed Bayard Presse in 1960.

In 1945, the community moved back to 8 rue François 1er. In 1986, the new house was inaugurated at 10 rue François 1er.

In 2010, the house was transformed into a Catholic youth hostel and student residence. A religious community still lives there.
