历史

The Religious Congregation of the Sisters of the Most Holy Savior was founded in Niederbronn-les-Bains in 1849 by Elisabeth Eppinger, in religion Mother Alphonse Marie. It experienced a very rapid extension. For lack of space in the small Convent of Niederbronn-les-Bains, it therefore acquired in 1857, the Oberbronn Castle where the Count of Strahlenheim lived until his death, to install the novitiate there and later make this place the current Mother House of the Congregation.

This place is now the heart of this great international body through its establishments in Europe, Africa, Asia and South America.

The foundress, Mother Alphonse Marie, was beatified by Cardinal Becciu on September 9, 2018 in Strasbourg Cathedral. An important relic of the Blessed is visible in the oratory adjoining the Chapel.

The Hôtellerie du Couvent offers traditional and regional cuisine, in a friendly atmosphere in the large dining room, which welcomes you for breakfasts, lunches and dinners, by prior reservation.

Attached to the Alsatian terroir, you are offered home cooking, made on site, favoring fresh products and local producers.

In summer, a terrace welcomes you every day from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. and offers you: sundaes, pies of the day, hot and cold drinks, cold and hot dishes.

At any time of the day, and for your evenings, find yourself in a warm atmosphere with Alsatian decor, in the Caveau: a space for relaxation and conviviality with a mini-bar to enhance the moment.

Park and gardens surround the buildings of the Convent. It is possible for you to walk there, to let yourself soak up, to recharge your batteries or to rest. Benches, armchairs and deckchairs are at your disposal.

Nature enthusiasts will find a large number of possibilities for walks and hikes on paths and trails marked out by the Club Vosgien.
