历史

The origins of the Sanctuary of Madonna del Frassino date back to the 11tth of May 1510 when in "Contrada Pigna" outside the walls of Peschiera del Garda, when the Madonna appeared to the farmer Bartolomeo Broglia. 
While he was working in the fields, the farmer was attacked by a snake: he asked for the Vergin's help, and while looking at the sky, he saw the image of the Mother of God, who came to his aid. 

The statuette of the Madonna with the Child, just over 14cm high, can be admired on the original ash tree in the Chapel to her dedicated.
In the Sanctuary built between 1511 and 1514, in renaissance style, there are multiple Farinati's works.
The Chapel of the Madonna, is the first chapel dedicated to the Madonna del Frassino. The miracolous Statuette is located on top of the storic Ash tree where the apparition took place. 

Stuccos and friezes date back to 1610. The canvas on the altar is Farinatis and represents the Eternal Father between a crown of Angels, St. Francis of Assisi, and St. Antonio Abate. The canvases on the walls are partially of Bertanza de Salo` ( sec. XVII0) and some modern painters.

The restaurant offers typical dishes and wines. It also offers, on request, menus for groups, and set menus ( from Monday to Friday).

庭院和花园

In the Sanctuary's car park there is a small green area where to relax by the shadow of robust cypresses. 
It is possible to reach the Sanctuary through the bycicle lane that connects it to Peschiera del Garda.

There is internet access in the every common and private areas. 
The Locanda also offer a meeting room and a Chapel.
