Historie

In 1866 Ms. Boyce inaugurated a school in Vallecrosia, a few years later, in 1869, a kindergarten was inaugurated and the same year the lower elementary school and the kindergarten were born. In a few years the number of boys and girls increased, until in 1911 it was decided to host only girls. The schools were integral parts of the boarding school and for shorter or longer periods teachers and teachers from the Waldensian environment alternated there.

The management of the work was, in the years between 1866 and 1891, entrusted to Mrs. Boyce assisted by friends and committees in Great Britain. In the years that followed the end of the war, the building was gradually renovated thanks to the commitment of numerous volunteers from the Italian and European evangelical world. n that time the Waldensian Church, which already had other institutions for minors in Italy, decided to start a subsidiary work for the latter in Vallecrosia. It was therefore decided to inaugurate a marine colony functioning in the summer months and a convalescent home in the other months.
