Storia

The property was born as a Renaissance Villa in 1500, in the silence and green of the surrounding woods, about 6km from the city of Lucca and 70km from Florence.
It was purchased in 1800 by the Diocese of Lucca, and transformed in the 1970s by Mons. Enrico Bartoletti for spiritual exercises, seminars, training courses for the clergy and laity, hospitality of pilgrims and days of retreat.

Subsequently, the house was equipped with all modern comforts, and is still associated with the F.I.E.S. - Italian Federation of Spiritual Exercises.

The property offers 3 dining rooms.
The main hall can accommodate up to 90 seats, the two smaller rooms respectively 35 and 15.

The House has a garden, the extraordinary view over the plain of Lucca offers an unforgettable setting for the visitors of the house. The whole structure is located in a quiet and peaceful area, suitable for relaxation and meditation.

The main chapel is made available for prayer, with a capacity of 80 people. The church is ready for celebrations, and eventually the priest who lives in the house is also available for various needs. There is also a small chapel where the community celebrates Holy Mass and liturgical hours.

The Diocesan House offers a large meeting room with a capacity of about 80 people, and the others can accommodate 45 and 20 guests respectively.
