Foresteria Monastica Santo Spirito, Agrigento

Schwester Silvia war sehr hilfsbereit und hat uns herzlich empfangen. Die Zimmer waren blitzsauber und die Betten bequem. Zum Frühstück gab es reichlich frisches Obst sowie abgepackte Croissants, kleine Kuchen, Marmeladen und Toast. Die Lage war sehr zentral und das Kloster hat einen ganz besonderen Charme. Eine Wegbeschreibung mit öffentlichen Verkehrsmitteln zum Kloster wäre hilfreich gewesen. Auch ein paar Informationen zur Umgebung im Zimmer wären nützlich gewesen.

Lovely room with gorgeous view. Furnishings basic but clean and comfortable. Tiny shared kitchen with kettle and fridge and one-ring cooker very useful for us. We ate in a couple of nights. Breakfast provided included fresh fruit and lovely home-baking from the nuns. Sr Sylvia welcomed us warmly and took care of us without being intrusive. We loved our peaceful stay. We had the whole place to ourselves. Kitchen could be crowded if a lot of people were staying.

An excellent base to explore Agrigento from- simple and clean facilities in a hostel structure opposite the monastery and church. It is however not possible to visit the monastery/ meet anyone, the structures are very separate. Breakfast is self service and included some biscuits baked at the monastery but otherwise is the usual packets of crackers with jam or ham/cheese. There is a small kitchen where you can prepare yourself coffee.

The room was bright, large, comfortable with a view of the bay. The hot water was amazing. We appreciated having a kitchen and being able to make coffee as soon as we woke up. Sister Sylvia’s dolci were delicious and she was warm and helpful. The double mattress is a classic European two mattresses put together and on the firm side. The location is in the beautiful, medieval old city with clear directions for parking.

Eine hervorragende Adresse für eine ruhige Übernachtung im historischen Zentrum: Das Zimmer war sehr sauber, groß und gut ausgestattet; die Betten waren sehr bequem, alles perfekt, inklusive Parkmöglichkeit. Vielen Dank an die Schwestern für den herzlichen Empfang und die Unterstützung. Die Reise fand im August 2024 statt.

Very welcoming and kind - we were very late and still had a great welcome. Basic facilities (although had a/c) but everything worked and it was great value for money and a great experience
