Storia

The community of the Ursuline Sisters of Cortina is made up of four sisters, each of whom comes from different cultural and missionary experiences. The oldest is the Superior Sr Pia Rosas, from Sardinia, who was a missionary in Australia for almost 50 years; Sr Respha Goleta, Filipino, religious for 30 years and in Italy for 7 years; Sr. Assunta Vu, Vietnamese, in Italy for 14 years, had her religious and theological training in this country; Sr. Rosalita Caserva, just arrived from the Philippines, served with dedication, enthusiasm and creativity, bringing her missionary experience here to Italy.

The house is immersed in unspoiled nature, offering breathtaking views of the beautiful Cortina. Cortina has always been a destination of excellence for those who love the mountains and their landscapes, sport and relaxation.

In the Ampezzo valley you can ski from November to April on 110 kilometers of slopes. There are five ski areas: Faloria, Cristallo, Mietres, Tofana, Socrepes - Pocol, Falzarego - Cinque Torri, all connected by modern lifts and ski bus service. Splendid scenarios open up to those who walk with snowshoes on their feet on the sparkling expanses of snow or to those who choose the thrill of a horse-drawn sleigh.

The offer of winter sports is truly 360 °. Even in summer Cortina offers many opportunities for relaxation and sport; along the 300 kilometers of paths there are many possible itineraries, more or less demanding. Among the sports in the summer it is possible to practice golf, horse riding, mountain biking, mountaineering. Not just skiing and summer sports, in the village of Cortina you can find the best of local crafts, art, and antiques.

Together with the flora and vegetation, the animals of the Dolomites constitute the great wealth of this wonderful mountain environment, a must is an excursion to the Natural Park of the Ampezzo Dolomites, where you can admire nature in its pure state, through eight routes via ferratas and six aided paths.

At the center of the House, the Chapel offers the possibility of moments of prayer and personal and collective recollection through participation in the Holy Mass. The particular architecture combined with the wonderful view of the Pomagagnon Group allows to elevate the spirit and to pray immersed in the surrounding nature.
