Überblick

The story of the Oasi began in the Middle Ages when it was built by Agnolo di Ranieri who donated the monastery to the Franciscan nuns.

Usually closed from November to February but can be opened for

Geschichte

In 1782 the monastery was suppressed by Pietro Leopoldo de’ Medici for political and economic reasons. In the second part of 1800 it was used for silk-
worm breeding. In 1891 the Redentorist fathers bought, restored and turned the oasi into a seminary. During WWII it also served as a hospital. The complex has been a hotel since 1973.
