Visión general

For over a hundred years Paulus-Haus, an institution of the German Association of the Holy Land, offers travelers a hospitable place to visit Jerusalem and its holy sites.
The House, with its serene atmosphere in a lavish historic setting, is itself a part of Jerusalem's history. Located directly at the Damascus Gate of the Old City, with its colorful oriental life, you can reach the memorial sites of the three major world religions in a few minutes on foot.

The rooms are spacious (20-22 sqm) with high ceilings and historic tiled floors.

The furnishing is simple and elegant. This corresponds to the tradition of Paulus-Haus as a place for travelers who are not looking for luxury but want to encounter the spirit, history and culture of the Holy City. Of course, contemporary comfort are offered: the rooms have a bathroom with shower and toilet and good WiFi reception. The view goes either to the Old City or to the quiet north side.

A special place, high above the Old City of Jerusalem, is the roof terrace of Paulus-Haus.
Guests can sit there with a spectacular view, enjoy and relax with a glass of wine, coffee or tea. An ideal place for a conversation with your friends, your group or an encounter.

Historia

Paulus-Haus has been a place for pilgrims for over a hundred years and until a few years ago was also a monastery in which various religious communities were at home: Lazarist Fathers, Borromean Sisters and most recently Maria Ward Sisters. Its spiritual character can be seen in the Church, the Chapel and in the Meditation room of Paulus-Haus.

Otras instalaciones

If you come to Jerusalem as a pilgrim or are simply interested in the world of Jesus and the Judaism of his time, the staff would like to offer you the opportunity to explore the biblical and religious traditions, through impulses, the presentation of the texts or simply in conversation. Also, happy to help you with contacts and information to experience the Holy Places individually.

Paulus-Haus has its own museum that houses among other things two unique models of the Temple Mount and the Haram-ash-Sharif in Jerusalem, designed and made by the German missionary Conrad Schick (around 1885).
