Positioned in the historic center of Orvieto, the guest house is surrounded by its own large garden and possesses panoramic views of the valley below. A 19th century building, it has been completely restructured in order to meet EU standards. It offers 27 beds in singles with shared bath and doubles with private bath. Both men and women are welcome. Towels and linens are supplied. Special rules: Guests must return to the guest house by 10:00 pm. Note: The house is open year-round except for the month of July.
Once an Etruscan domain and then a papal fortress, Orvieto is sprawled on a tufa platform dominating a vineyard-strewn valley. The duomo is its most spectacular sight. The structure took centuries to build. Bold and extremely colorful, the façade is a tribute to Romanesque-Gothic architecture, polychrome mosaics and marble relief sculptures. It is a striking monument, particularly in the early afternoon when the dazzling Umbrian sun casts a glow on the building. The Corpus Domini Costumed Procession takes place in June. Weekly markets are held on Thursday and Saturday in Piazza del Popolo. In December, the Umbria Jazz Festival comes to Orvieto.
Meals are not offered with the lodging.
There is private parking, a conference hall, library, two chapels and refectory.
