Histoire

The Mother Superior is available, upon request, for a friendly chat with guests interested in the history of the Monastery, whose foundation in Modena dates back to the second half of the 1600s thanks to Laura Martinozzi d'Este, Duchess of Modena. She was the nephew of Cardinal Mazarin, successor of Cardinal Richelieu in France, mother of Maria Beatrice Eleonora, Anna, Margaret and Isabella, Queen of England, wife of 15 years old James II Stuart. was raised and educated, thus intertwines with the great European history.

In the church of the Monastery, moreover, is kept the precious statue of Mary Mother of Providence and Consolation, made following a Marian apparition, which took place in 1675. The feast falls on September 28th.

Restauration et Boissons

In the structure there is no restaurant but a modern and new kitchen at the service of guests, where it is possible to personally prepare simple meals. Alternatively, you can order at the nearby partner restaurant, including pizza.

Lunch and dinner can also be eaten on the beautiful terrace, adjacent to the kitchen, equipped with heating in winter and air conditioning in summer.

The tea room is always available for a quick snack or a cold drink.
