Histoire

The Institute of the Daughters of Mary Help of Christians was born in Mornese (Alessandria)on the 5th August 1872. It was founded by St. John Bosco and St. Mary Domenica Mazzarello. Since then, this charisma, who cares about the education of new generations, has taken root in many countries around the world in order to accompany the lives of young people and to respond to the needs and changing demands expressed by society.

Already in the first decades after its foundation, they are witnessing a rapid expansion of the work of the Daughters of Mary Help of Christians (Salesian Sisters) in many parts of the world and thean increasing number of activities in response to concrete needs such as education, work, the protection of women and the assistance of ‘childhood etc.

In 1906 the Daughters of Mary Help of Christians open their home in Jerusalem and since then so many events, happy and difficult ones have followed.

Today in the community there are 7 sisters from 6 different nations and among all of them speak at least eight languages. They are happy to be together and share the daily life meeting pilgrims from all over the world.
They wish to share their joy and serve others so that those who pass through their house may experience a simple, peaceful and cozy environment.
