Aperçu

Sarum College offers a friendly stay in historic buildings just opposite Salisbury Cathedral within its 80-acre Close. The Cathedral, a masterpiece of early English architecture, is renowned for its soaring spire, the tallest in the UK, and its stunning 13th-century design.

This city-centre setting is close to the high street as well as the rail station with direct services to London and to major Southern England cities.

A small community of Anglican Benedictine monks is still leaving at St Benedict’s Priory. You can come to daily offices in the priory house, the morning mass at the cathedral is every morning at 7:30, midday prayer at Sarum College at 12:15, and choral evensong in the choir of the cathedral.

Arrivée : 14:00 (2:00) - 21:00 (9:00) (En cas de contrainte particulières, n’hésitez pas à demander un aménagement.)

Départ : 09:30 (9:30) - 09:45 (9:45)

Histoire

Sarum College is a centre for study and research in historic Grade 1-listed buildings. The College was founded in 1995 to offer theological learning to all. Alongside the College's courses and conferences, local, national and international groups and individuals hire the venue to gather, train and celebrate.

Across the quad are three Anglican Benedictine monks in St Benedict’s Priory, who are part of the greater Sarum College community, along with the Royal School of Music (RSCM) whose national administrative office is housed on the second floor.

Restauration et Boissons

Sarum College has an in-house catering team who make cooked breakfasts and lunches daily, as well as evening meals and food for conferences, events and celebrations.

There is a dining room and a licensed bar. There are several cafes within Salisbury Cathedral Close and just outside the medieval walls are classic and gastro pubs, as well as restaurants to suit any taste. Further afield there are excellent pubs set in the timeless Wiltshire countryside.

Espaces verts et alentours

Salisbury Cathedral Close is an 80-acre site of which seven are grassy public areas for walking, lounging and picnicking.

Guests may access the College quad and nearby Queen Elizabeth Gardens is a riverside park about 10 minutes walk from the College. You can continue along the Town Path to see the classic view that John Constable painted of Salisbury Cathedral across the water meadows.

A very warm welcome and good clean rooms with tea and coffee making facilities. As I have arthritis I was very disappointed to discover that the lift was out of action and my room was up several flights of stairs. If I had known before hand I would have made alternate arrangements. Breakfast was excellent

Lovely historic location right in the heart of Salisbury opposite the Cathedral, reception staff were very welcoming & friendly , the room was spacious & spotlessly clean. Breakfast was plentiful with a great variety of foods

KenL

The building is very nice, the location is great. Breakfast schedule could be a little more flexible, as well as the the checkout time (first time we need to leave at 9.30). The rest was very good and staff quite helpful.

PabloC

Wonderful building, excellent breakfast. The single room was sparse but spotless. Unfortunately the heating was not working and it was a little cool in the evening. A portable heater was supplied.
