Histoire

The sisters are part of an international Congregation founded in 1885 at Mariannhill, near Pinetown by Abbot Francis Pfanner, an Austrian Trappist abbot.

Following the example of Abbot Francis, the sisters care for the well-being and spiritual needs of all who seek rest in this safe and Christian environment. 

Restauration et Boissons

• Breakfast from 7:00am to 8:00am

Cooked breakfast with cereals, toast, cheese, tomato and fruit.

• Tea at 10:00am

Tea, coffee, or juice with a backed cake, scone, muffin or homemade biscuts.

• Lunch from 12:00pm to 13:00pm

Cooked meal with vegetables and /or a sallad and dessert

• Tea at 3:00pm

Espaces verts et alentours

The Giba Gorge mountain Bike and Adventure park is in Pinetown, 7 km from the convent.

Shaka Marine World is located in Durban as well as the enormous Mabida Stadium, which hosts public events as well as football matches. Durban also boasts some of the country's most beautiful beaches.

The 3000 hectare Tala Game Reserve is situated on the outskirts of Pietermaritzburg, 44 km from Pinetown.

The sisters occupy the convent(s) and priests and brothers live in the Monastery. As well as two convents and a guest house, the complex consists of :

• the Cathedral,
• 3 schools,
• a children's home,
• 2 hostels, one for boys and one for girls,
• a hospital,
• a retirement home for priests
• noviciates for priests, brothers and nuns.
• A number of workshops offer training in metalwork, printing, carpentry and the manufacturing of liturgical vestments.
