Villa Crawford is a charming historic villa and a house of religious hospitality located in the picturesque Marinella area of Sant'Agnello, just 1 km from the enchanting town of Sorrento. Storia

Walking along the stretch of coast in front of the beach "La Marinella", overlooking the sea, resting on huge ramparts that rise from the water, you can admire the beautiful villa that belonged to the American writer Francis Marion Crawford, who chose to live in Sant ' Lamb since 1885, the year of his marriage. Thanks to the wonderful location, overlooking the sea, it is possible to admire the Gulf of Naples, the imposing Vesuvius, and the islands of Ischia, Procida, and Capri.

On the writer's death in 1909, the villa passed to his eldest daughter Eleonora, wife of the noble Pietro Rocca di Roccapadula, to whom he gave two children: Leone and Honorius. The first became a lawyer and, at a mature age, a Jesuit; the second became a talented musician and composer, and, on the death of his father, he became a priest and spiritual guide of many young people who frequented his house, Villa Crawford, which he donated, as early as 1954, to the Institute of Mary Help of Christians.

In the history of Sant'Agnello, this villa has played an important role, because it is a point of reference and meeting point of the cultural environment of the time, a cross-section of the nineteenth century, in which the original atmosphere is still palpable, despite the passage of time. The religious house boasts a tradition of hospitality and serenity. The climate contributes to making it a privileged place for spiritual recharge, rest, and relaxation.

Through the Oratory, an educational place open to all young people, it offers an experience rich in human and Christian values ​​which are expressed in a range of educational proposals suitable for different ages.

An internal restaurant is available that offers both the menu for half board and the menu for full board where it is possible to choose a first between two proposals and a second between two proposals.

The price per meal for half board or full board is € 20.00 per person per meal, with drinks not included. It is possible to freely choose to serve yourself from the restaurant with an a la carte menu.

Villa Crawford è immersa in uno splendido parco con una vista mozzafiato sulla costa. È raggiungibile a piedi da Sorrento, ma gode di una posizione molto tranquilla ed è anche molto comoda per la linea ferroviaria Circumvesuviana. Le camere sono piccole, come ci si aspetterebbe dalle foto accurate sul sito web, ma impeccabilmente pulite e dotate di una buona doccia. Il personale è stato gentile e disponibile e la colazione era buona. Consiglio vivamente questa struttura per un soggiorno con un buon rapporto qualità-prezzo in un ambiente incantevole e caratteristico.

Ho adorato il mio soggiorno a Villa Crawford. Non dimenticherò mai questo posto speciale. Grazie alle persone gentili che ci lavorano e che mi hanno fatto sentire così benvenuta e a mio agio. A chiunque stia pensando di soggiornare in Villa Crawford, consiglio di considerare la sua posizione a Sant Agnello, a breve distanza dal centro di Sorrento. Sant Agnello si trova sulla linea Circumvesuviana e si può raggiungere Villa Crawford con una piacevole passeggiata lungo una graziosa stradina. Ho di gran lunga preferito Sant Agnello alla caotica e affollata Sorrento.

Il panorama più bello in assoluto!!! Proprio sulla costa di Sorrento. Vista perfetta dalla sala colazioni, dal ristorante e dalla terrazza. Davvero mozzafiato! La colazione era ottima. Il servizio fantastico! Bellissimo giardino. Ho soggiornato con la mia famiglia di sei persone. Ottima posizione. A soli 10 minuti dal centro città. Ottimo rapporto qualità-prezzo! Prezzi onesti, soprattutto considerando che l'hotel è gestito dalle suore. Ho intenzione di tornarci!

Ambiente splendido, personale cordiale, camera semplice ma molto confortevole, buona colazione e cena eccellente (prezzo molto ragionevole per il menù fisso), ottimo rapporto qualità-prezzo. Consiglierò Villa Crawford ad altri: sono il terzo membro della mia famiglia ad avervi soggiornato. Ho apprezzato molto l'atmosfera salesiana e l'opportunità di celebrare l'Eucaristia nella bellissima cappella. Mille grazie!

La struttura è splendida e la posizione con vista sull'oceano è spettacolare. Il letto in camera (singolo) faceva fatica a sostenere la mia statura di un metro e ottanta, ed è stata l'unica cosa che avrebbe potuto migliorare ulteriormente l'esperienza.

Villa Crawford enjoys a privileged position: it is located overlooking the sea, in one of the most spectacular points of the Sorrento Peninsula, after Villa Fondi and the Pizzo garden, in a quiet area but only a few steps from the Marinella beach, and about 1km from the center of Sorrento (Piazza Badger). From Sant’Agnello you can easily reach the archaeological sites of Pompeii, Oplontis, and Herculaneum (25 km) by Circumvesuviana or Positano, Amalfi, Ravello with the SITA buses, and with just 15 minutes of navigation you are in Capri. Lovers of the sea and nature will find enchanting the landscapes of the marine park of Punta Campanella and the Bay of Ieranto (FAI protected area) located on the tip of the peninsula where the Lattari mountains degrade to the sea dividing the two gulfs of Naples and Salerno. Opposite, a few nautical miles away, you can admire the splendid island of Capri, once attached to the mainland and today the ideal continuation of the peninsula beyond the sea.
