For those looking to explore the surrounding treasures, convenient public transport options to Sorrento, Positano, Amalfi, Pompeii, Herculaneum, and Naples are just 900 meters away.

Geschichte

Walking along the stretch of coast in front of the beach "La Marinella", overlooking the sea, resting on huge ramparts that rise from the water, you can admire the beautiful villa that belonged to the American writer Francis Marion Crawford, who chose to live in Sant ' Lamb since 1885, the year of his marriage. Thanks to the wonderful location, overlooking the sea, it is possible to admire the Gulf of Naples, the imposing Vesuvius, and the islands of Ischia, Procida, and Capri.

On the writer's death in 1909, the villa passed to his eldest daughter Eleonora, wife of the noble Pietro Rocca di Roccapadula, to whom he gave two children: Leone and Honorius. The first became a lawyer and, at a mature age, a Jesuit; the second became a talented musician and composer, and, on the death of his father, he became a priest and spiritual guide of many young people who frequented his house, Villa Crawford, which he donated, as early as 1954, to the Institute of Mary Help of Christians.

In the history of Sant'Agnello, this villa has played an important role, because it is a point of reference and meeting point of the cultural environment of the time, a cross-section of the nineteenth century, in which the original atmosphere is still palpable, despite the passage of time. The religious house boasts a tradition of hospitality and serenity. The climate contributes to making it a privileged place for spiritual recharge, rest, and relaxation.

Through the Oratory, an educational place open to all young people, it offers an experience rich in human and Christian values ​​which are expressed in a range of educational proposals suitable for different ages.

An internal restaurant is available that offers both the menu for half board and the menu for full board where it is possible to choose a first between two proposals and a second between two proposals.

Die Villa Crawford liegt in einer wunderschönen Anlage mit atemberaubendem Blick auf die Küste. Sie ist von Sorrent aus bequem zu Fuß erreichbar und befindet sich in einer sehr ruhigen Umgebung. Auch die Circumvesuviana-Bahnlinie ist gut zu erreichen. Die Zimmer sind, wie die Bilder auf der Website zeigen, klein, aber makellos sauber und mit einer guten Dusche ausgestattet. Das Personal war freundlich und hilfsbereit, und das Frühstück war gut. Ich kann die Villa Crawford uneingeschränkt für einen preiswerten Aufenthalt in einem charmanten und charaktervollen Ambiente empfehlen.

Mein Besuch in der Villa Crawford war wunderschön. Ich werde diesen besonderen Ort nie vergessen. Vielen Dank an die netten Mitarbeiter, die mir einen so herzlichen Empfang bereitet haben. Falls Sie einen Aufenthalt in der Villa planen, sei Ihnen gesagt, dass sie in Sant Agnello liegt, nur wenige Schritte vom Zentrum Sorrents entfernt. Sant Agnello liegt an der Circumvesuviana-Linie, und von dort aus erreicht man die Villa Crawford über einen malerischen Weg. Mir hat Sant Agnello dem geschäftigen und überfüllten Sorrento deutlich besser gefallen.

Die schönste Landschaft überhaupt!!! Direkt an der Küste von Sorrent. Traumhafter Ausblick vom Frühstücksbereich, Restaurant und der Terrasse. Einfach atemberaubend! Das Frühstück war sehr gut. Der Service war fantastisch! Wunderschöner Garten. Wir waren mit unserer sechsköpfigen Familie dort. Super Lage. Nur 10 Minuten vom Stadtzentrum entfernt. Auch das Preis-Leistungs-Verhältnis ist top! Besonders günstig, da das Hotel von Nonnen geführt wird. Ich komme auf jeden Fall wieder!

Stunning setting, friendly staff, simple but very comfortable room, good breakfast and excellent dinner (very reasonable for the Table d'Hote), excellent value for money. I will tell others about the Villa Crawford - I am now the third member of my family to have stayed there. Die Anlage ist wunderschön und die Lage mit Meerblick spektakulär. Das Bett im Zimmer (Einzelbettgröße) war für meine 1,83 m Körpergröße etwas zu klein; das wäre das Einzige gewesen, was den Aufenthalt noch angenehmer gemacht hätte.

Villa Crawford enjoys a privileged position: it is located overlooking the sea, in one of the most spectacular points of the Sorrento Peninsula, after Villa Fondi and the Pizzo garden, in a quiet area but only a few steps from the Marinella beach, and about 1km from the center of Sorrento (Piazza Badger). From Sant’Agnello you can easily reach the archaeological sites of Pompeii, Oplontis, and Herculaneum (25 km) by Circumvesuviana or Positano, Amalfi, Ravello with the SITA buses, and with just 15 minutes of navigation you are in Capri. Lovers of the sea and nature will find enchanting the landscapes of the marine park of Punta Campanella and the Bay of Ieranto (FAI protected area) located on the tip of the peninsula where the Lattari mountains degrade to the sea dividing the two gulfs of Naples and Salerno. Opposite, a few nautical miles away, you can admire the splendid island of Capri, once attached to the mainland and today the ideal continuation of the peninsula beyond the sea.
